Is medical free in Ontario?
Every Ontario resident with his or her primary and permanent home in Ontario is entitled to access emergency and preventive care under OHIP free of charge. As of 1 January 2018, prescription drugs for those under 25 years of age are covered by OHIP through OHIP+.

The government currently covers only about of 55 per cent of the cost of an OHIP-insured eye exam. The withdrawal of OHIP eye exams will affect those 19 years of age and younger, as well as adults age 65 and older. Many seniors in particular rely on the OHIP covered exams as a means to get their eyes checked.
Are glasses covered by OHIP?

Who is not eligible for OHIP?
No. Tourists, transients or visitors are not eligible for OHIP coverage. For a child born in Ontario to be eligible for Ontario health insurance coverage they must make their primary place of residence in Ontario, and be physically present in Ontario for at least 153 days in any 12-month period to retain OHIP coverage.
