Is Marine Tex Oil resistant?
Marine Tex epoxy is impervious to oil, fuel, grease, brine and detergents. Commonly used for minor fiberglass gelcoat repairs, tt is unaffected by temperatures from -60 F to 300 F. It can be sanded, drilled, sawed, threaded and painted.
How do you use white Marine Tex?
With a trowel, apply Marine-Tex to the surface and work into all voids and depressions. To minimize sanding, remove excess epoxy with trowel before it cures. Use water to smooth to the desired shape. Let cure for the full amount of time.
How do you tint a Marine Tex?
Marine-Tex White can be tinted with ITW Fibre-Glass Evercoat’s coloring agents for fiberglass and wood applications. Be sure to use only a small amount of coloring agent (no more than 5% of the total volume of epoxy.)
Can you screw into Marine-Tex?
Any comments are welcome. You can tap into Marine-Tex. If you are inclined to do so, the imbedding of a female thread that you can bolt into would probably be the best, but Marine-Tex is incredibly strong. You can use it to repair an engine block if necessary.

Maximum applied thickness is 1 1/2 inches. MIXING RATIO: 5 parts epoxy resin to 1 part hardener — by volume. (When mixing by weight, the ratio is 6.3 parts resin to 1 part hardener.) Always keep the epoxy at room temperature before mixing.
Will Marine-Tex cure underwater?
Yes, but the Marine-Tex is likely to wash away in moving water while it is trying to cure. The FlexSet is better for underwater applications because it is of a denser consistency. If you would like to try an underwater application, mix the epoxy above the water, then deposit it on wax paper or plastic wrap.
Can you add color to Marine-Tex?
Only the White Marine-Tex can be pigmented. No pure color will be achieved by adding pigments. (We recommend epoxy-friendly pigments, like Fibre-Glass Evercoat’s.)

What’s the best way to make marine Tex?
Mix product for 2-3 minutes, then deposit it on wax paper or plastic wrap. Slide the wax paper or plastic wrap onto palm of hand with epoxy facing up. Take it below the water line and apply to surface. Be careful not to smack or pancake the product onto the surface, this will trap water under the epoxy.
