Can you improve the Aetherial shield?
The Aetherial Shield can be upgraded at a workbench with a Dwarven Metal Ingot and the Arcane Blacksmith perk. This means the shield cannot be improved past flawless quality without boosting the Smithing skill over 100. This can be achieved by using enchanted items and/or blacksmithing potions to Fortify Smithing.

Is the aetherial Crown, Shield, or staff?
The shield seems not terribly useful as a non-armor wearing battlemage. The staff seems interesting as it’d be cool to call dwarven spheres, but I’m not sure how it’ll work with 2 summoned daedra. What do you folks think? Teach me the ways of the secular flesh.
