How are Results taken at Blithfield triathlon?
The event will be run over the Sprint distance and following T2 athletes will simply jog to the finish line with a seperate results listing. The event will be incorporated into the mass Sprint distance wave. The time will be taken on the mat into T2
Where does the Blithfield Aquabike race take place?
The race is based at the Sailing Club and provides an opportunity to either compete at the Sprint distance or the Olympic distance. Free camping is provided ensuring a great family weekend with a fast rolling bike, which promises to be a PB course.
How big is the Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire?
Blithfield Reservoir is situated in some of Staffordshire’s most beautiful countryside. The 790 acre reservoir was opened in 1952 and much of the surrounding woodland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Can you run a triathlon on an Aquabike?
This will give individuals that are recovering and can’t run the ability to race, athletes that are just training for an upcoming race and choose not tax their legs with the running portion of a triathlon, or people that have just converted into AquaBike athletes and love to swim and bike!
When does the Ironman swim and bike course close?
Athletes who take longer than 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete the swim will receive a DNF. Bike: The bike course will close at 5:30PM. Athletes arriving at the bike dismount line after 5:30PM. will not be permitted to continue.
