We are excited to announce Bedarra is open to guests and taking reservations… Bedarra opened to guests from 1 July 2020 and we continue to strive towards providing our guests the secluded and isolated tropical escape we have become renowned for.
Can you visit Bedarra Island?
Dunk Island Resort permits visitors during the day only. Travel is by water taxi. The nearest restaurants and Resorts are at Mission Beach. However your stay at Bedarra Island is to escape all of the city hustle and bustle.

Can you stay on Lindeman island?
For further exploration you can spend the day visiting uninhabited islands nearby Lindeman just a short boat ride away. Currently, the only accommodation facilities available are camping because of the closure of the resort.

Wi-fi is available however in our restaurant and lounge area. Total area of the villas are 73.5m2 (61.5m2 internal and 12m2 deck). The Nautilus Villas (Villas 3 & 6) sit just above the beach and enjoy spectacular rainforest framed views to the beach and stunning views of the headland across the bay.
Are children allowed on Bedarra Island?
Bedarra is an island location and as a result we may need to amend, delay or cancel your reservation due to unfavourable weather conditions. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover this scenario. Unfortunately Bedarra does not cater for children under 16 years of age.
Can you stay on Dunk Island?
Currently, the only way to stay on Dunk Island is by camping, and with just eight camping sites, you’ll practically have the whole island to yourself. It’s the perfect place to pitch a tent if you’re into a rustic camping experience with a picture-perfect view and the beach at your doorstep.

Hi Olga L The Bedarra Beach House is a self catering house located on the other side of the island from Bedarra Island Resort. Being self-catered, the tariffs do not include any meals, beverages, activities or cleaning services during your stay while the tariffs at Bedarra Island Resort includes all of these.

Scenic 35 minute heli-transfers are available from Cairns airport directly to our beachside heli-pad. Alternatively road transfers from Cairns take approximately two hours connecting with twice daily water taxi transfers from Mission Beach to Bedarra. Bedarra Island is a place everyone should try to visit at least one time in their life.
