The difference between the G4CS/4G64 engines and the 4G63 engines is more than just the length of the stroke (tho most of the added displacement comes from the 100mm crankshaft, as opposed to the 4G63’s 88mm crank) the bore is also different. You CANNOT just take a 4g63 block and stroke it to 2.4 liters!!!

How good is the 4G63 engine?
In general, the 4G63 is known as a very reliable engine. Most of them already have a huge mileage near 200,000-250,000 miles (300,000-400,000 km). But the engine is easy for rebuild and repair because the OEM and high-performance parts are available and easy to buy.

When you look at it you can see the water passages for the cooling jackets around the cylinders, as such it uses the head to cap off the water jacket. When you look at say the 4G63 or a small or big block chevy you cannot see the water passages thus they are closed deck engines.
Can you turbo a 4G63?
You can do a turbo set up on your N/A 4g63 but, its better to just swap in your 1g pistons and injectors and anything else from your old motor into your N/A 4g63 and you should be good to go.
