How do I make my BOV sound?
The easiest way to obtain a more noticeable sound is by installing a blow-off valve designed to vent directly to the atmosphere. Airflow is vented directly to the engine bay with no intake tubing or air boxes to muffle the sound, resulting in a far louder discharge.
Is it bad to run a BOV?
Running no BOV does not damage the turbo, or effect its lifespan. BOV’s were introduced as a NHV prevention measure, that is all. Running without a BOV does decrease lag on gear changes. This is never going to be proven.

What happens if you don’t run a BOV?
If there is no blow-off valve, the only escape for this air is back through the turbocharger. When that happens, it slows the turbocharger down considerably and puts a lot of load on that turbo. When you’re on and off the throttle all the time, releasing all the charged air can hurt throttle response and give some lag.
Do Wastegates make a sound?
