Today long time festival hosts Williams and Ree announced that the headliner for the Craven Country Jamboree Special 5th Anniversary Show will be the legendary George Strait.
The Texas Troubadour recently celebrated his 25th Anniversary as a recording artist and has enjoyed unprecedented success during that 25 years. With 62 million albums sold, more gold albums than any artist in country music, a record breaking 53 number one singles with the recent release of Give it Away from his recent album, Troubadour, and too many award nominations and awards to mention, George Strait remains in a league of his own.
Strait will also appeal to the rural roots of Saskatchewan as he remains a true cowboy – still riding and roping on his ranch in South Texas. Strait organizes the George Strait Team Roping Classic, raising money for Professional Cowboys. He has organized this event for over 26 years and occasionally participates himself.
Show producer Brian Andrews said, "We've enjoyed so much success over the last four years that we knew that we had to do something special for the 5th Anniversary Show. It doesn't get much better than George Strait. Getting George is unbelievable. The dedicated people who support this festival year after year deserve a visit from one of the greatest artists in country music."
